  • Let's Talk About Anxiety: For Early Years Educators and Parents

    Understanding the science behind anxiety and how mindfulness and nature connections can help. Details about supporting young children through separation anxiety.

  • Ethical Considerations for Early Childhood Educators

    A review of five ethical theories with discussion and an opportunity to practice making decisions based on those theories.

  • Nature With Children: Our Learning Journey

    In 2020, I became manager of a new nature program at Arbutus Grove Children’s Centre. In this workshop I share some of the barriers that might prevent you from taking children outdoors, how they can be overcome, and some benefits to nature education fo young children. Ideas for facilitating outdoor play are included.

  • Exploring Waldorf Creativity, and Natural Materials

    An opportunity to look at a variety of loose parts and materials that could be offered to enhance play and creativity. We’ll talk about storytelling and ways to introduce a story, adding layers of creativity to the story with each re-telling.

  • Storytelling

    We will talk about the differences between reading from a picture book and oral stories and the benefits of each. Participants will have an opportunity to listen to stories and to practice oral story telling.
